Lyndsie Bourgon

Lyndsie Bourgon is an author and oral historian in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she teaches journalism and research at the University of King’s College. Lyndsie is a National Geographic Explorer, and a Fellow of both the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and the Explorers Club. Her work has appeared in publications including National Geographic, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Smithsonian, and The Guardian, and her first book, Tree Thieves: Crime and Survival in North America’s Woods (2022), was nominated for awards by PEN America, the Nieman Foundation, the BC Yukon Book Awards, and the Society of Environmental Journalists. She has led oral history projects and traditional land use studies in British Columbia, Alberta, Northern Ontario, Labrador, Scotland, and Peru.
