Lucas Aykroyd

Lucas Aykroyd is an award-winning travel and sports journalist. His work has appeared in the New York Times, National Geographic, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, and the Vancouver Sun. His recent Canadian adventures range from viewing belugas in the St. Lawrence River to retracing the 1845 Franklin expedition in the High Arctic.

Lucas has covered men’s and women’s hockey at every Winter Olympics in the 21st century for IIHF.com. In 2017, he founded the Irene Adler Prize, an annual scholarship competition for women writers. A recipient of the University of Victoria’s Distinguished Alumni Award, he lives in Vancouver.
