Fred Roots

Fred Roots, a geologist, geophysicist, explorer and diplomat with an Antarctic mountain range (the Roots Range) named in his honour, was a pioneer of polar science and influenced research and climate policy around the world during his storied career. He died in 2016 at the age of 93.
