karibu is a new kind of travel company founded by Andrea Mandel-Campbell, a former foreign correspondent, best-selling author and avid traveller. Andrea takes a journalist lens to karibu’s travel offering, digging below the surface to take you to unexpected places and introduce you to people you would not otherwise meet.
Andrea describes karibu as “Canada’s newest and coolest people and nature positive travel company.” Focused on spectacular wild places and hidden gems in Canada and beyond, each karibu small group tour is personally curated and designed to include active and immersive experiences in nature, meaningful cultural connection and tasteful accommodations.
karibu was created as an antidote to mediocre, conveyor belt travel that often wrecks popular destinations and contributes little to the planet or our own well-being. We do not follow the crowd, and we partner with local and Indigenous communities and businesses.
