Jared Hobbs

Jared Hobbs is a registered professional biologist, a registered Antarctic guide, and a professional wildlife
photographer based in Victoria, B.C. Throughout his career he has focused on conservation of species at risk in BC, Yukon, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Kauai, Alaska, Australia, and Antarctica. He has also authored or co-authored several scientific papers and books and is the recipient of an international conservation award for his dedication to conservation.

Jared continues to advance science and advocate for conservation of imperilled species in Canada by capturing unique images of wildlife to increase empathy and awareness. His images are represented by All Canada Photos, and are used by publishers, government agencies and environmental advocacy groups worldwide. His independent photographic publications include a book on spotted owls, several articles for Canadian Geographic and British Columbia Magazine and most recently a book on bats.
