Follow up on home envelope improvements

By The Proulx-Coll Household

During the home envelope challenge, we looked at a few small things we could do ourselves to improve how many times the air in our home changed.  This included barricading some of our unused/ancient windows in our basement and improving the caulking around other windows.

We also hired a window specialist to replace to replace some glass for 7 of our windows.  Why we chose this approach is detailed in our other blog post here.

We decided to perform another energy audit to measure the impact of these small changes and were really impressed that we were able to reduce the number of air changes in our home by over 20% (from 9.67 down to 7.87 air changes per hour)!

*I’m not sure why the second report was in French while the first one was in English
