A Home Envelope Challenge Song

By The Reid Household

No need to excuse me
We’re doing our best
Working hard for a month, but still lots of work left
This so-called enclosure will save me from death
I’m so sick of the cold
I need home for a rest

Our home in December has always been cold
Drafty and breezy and so uncontrolled
We never saw nothin’ but droplets and frost
Always chilly at night and at a high cost

No need to excuse me
We’re doing our best
Working hard for a month, but still lots of work left
This so-called enclosure will save me from death
I’m so sick of the cold
I need home for a rest

Searching for comfort and all that it’s worth
Insulation and caulking have all been put forth
Foam behind sockets and sealing pot lights
Gave us great cheer and some cozy delights

No need to excuse me
We’re doing our best
Working hard for a month, but still lots of work left
This so-called enclosure will save me from death
I’m so sick of the cold
I need home for a rest

By the light of the sun we had some folks help
Our audit report was of course the first step
Review and research and then make the call
Lots going on as we work to do it all

No need to excuse me
We’re doing our best
Working hard for a month, but still lots of work left
This so-called enclosure will save me from death
I’m so sick of the cold
I need home for a rest

We now use less power it’s snug like a womb
The coldness we had has now left the room
I’m comfortable now, come on sleep take me soon
My house is so warm I might doze til’ noon

No need to excuse me
We’re doing our best
Working hard for a month, but still lots of work left
This so-called enclosure will save me from death
I’m so sick of the cold
I need home for a rest
