Pikanagegaabo William Yerxxa

Pikanagegaabo William Yerxa was born on the Little Eagle Reserve in Northwestern Ontario. He learned to harvest Manoomin from his parents, Bert and Francis Yerxa, and has continued this vital Anishinaabe practice for seventy years. Alongside his wife, Florence Yerxa, he has continued to teach his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren how to traditionally harvest and prepare the sacred grain.
