Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see ground zero of a lightning strike as the bolt hits the ground?

This video, captured on a security camera in North Jackson, Tennessee, by YouTube user Phillip S, shows lightning touching down just metres away.

The quiet cluster of trees takes a direct hit from a lightning bolt that’s barely visible to the naked eye. But you sure can hear it — the thunder emitted from the strike sounds like a gunshot as debris flies through the frame.
