They dance like no one’s watching.
Having set out for some night photography, Victor Chimenti stumbled upon one of the Natural Seven Wonders of the World — the northern lights.
Chimenti, owner of Thunder Bay-based Coastal Productions, caught the display on Aug. 27 and put the beautiful phenomenon in a time-lapse video recorded over nine hours.
The northern lights, which are more often seen during the winter, are the result of collisions between electrically-charged particles from the sun entering the Earth’s atmosphere. In the North, it is referred to as Aurora Borealis, which means “Dawn of the North.”
