Never underestimate a mother's love. In this heart-melting video a mother raccoon attempts to teach her kit how to climb a tree in a backyard in the pacific northwest. However, not that we're in any position to judge, but the kit does not appear to be "a natural" at it. Trees are crucial to raccoons. They make their nests in hollow tree cavities (as well as almost anywhere else including storm sewers and attics) and can climb trees to escape predators. They are one of only a few animals that can descend a tree headfirst.
