Ondaatje claims a Camsell

Olympian, philanthropist, financier, writer, explorer. Sir Christopher Ondaatje has gone by many titles in his life, and now he can add Camsell medallist to the list.
At an awards dinner in June in London, England, Ondaatje received the Camsell Medal, which recognizes a person who has given outstanding service to the Society. The award is named after the Society’s founder, Charles Camsell.
After immigrating to Canada in 1956, Ondaatje became a member of the Canadian Olympic bobsleigh team in 1964. He then moved on to a successful career in finance and publishing before becoming a writer and global adventurer.
