A replica of the bell found aboard the Erebus shipwreck is now available for public viewing. The Royal Ontario Museum, in partnership with Parks Canada, have unveiled a new Franklin Outreach Project with the goal of sharing Franklin stories and discoveries with Canadians over the next three years.

The highlight of the project is a 3D printed replica of the bell recovered from HMS Erebus. However the travelling programme will also include pop-up displays, lectures, exhibitions while incorporating contemporary research and technology and Inuit traditional knowledge to bring the Franklin story to life.

Watch a panel of experts discuss the discovery of HMS Erebus at the opening of the ROM’s exhibition: The Franklin Expedition: The Bell Tolls Again.
