Travelling the world sounds like a dream, but planning it can be a nightmare. To help the process, here are five apps that’ll take you from your living room to the best local hot spots of your destination, and everything in between.

1.  Kayak
The search and booking site that takes all the grunt work out of trying to find the best deals. Kayak scours the Internet, including other aggregation sites like Orbitz and Priceline, to find the best prices. It offers flight bookings, hotels and even car rentals.

2. Swearport
Whether you missed your plane or the forecast is calling for rain your entire vacation, sometimes you just have to cuss. With support for more than 70 languages and the option of choosing by country, this app will have you swearing like the locals in no time. Also includes severity ratings and audio recordings.

3. Viator
You made it! Now what? Go beyond the typical tourist attractions with a list of activities hand-picked by a team of “travel insiders,” and do it on a budget. Viator locates deals and discounts to offer some of the best sightseeing deals. For the hesitant, it also offers customer reviews and 24/7 live support.

4. Viber
Roaming rates and ridiculous phone bills after travelling are a thing of the past. Get all your friends on board and never lose contact, no matter where you are. Viber offers free texting and calling within its community of users over Wi-Fi. With ViberOut, it also lets users make international calls to landlines or non-Viber users at the lowest rates.

5. SitOrSquat
You’re enjoying the view and suddenly you need a restroom. With SitOrSquat, find the nearest washroom to your current location, and even some reviews. View the washrooms in a list or an interactive, location-based map. You can search, view, rate and even add bathrooms as you find them. The database currently has over 100,000 listed washrooms.
