Ten energy-savvy teachers from across the country were invited to attend a Canadian Geographic Education teacher workshop in Fort McMurray, Alta. from August 19 to 21.

The workshop, produced in partnership with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, focused on promoting energy literacy among Canadian students and explored Canadian Geographic Education’s suite of teacher resources, including the Energy IQ and Giant Floor Map programs. Teachers also toured Shell Canada’s Jackpine and Muskeg mining facilities, and visited the Oil Sands Discovery Centre.
